Abule-Ado Explosion Full Update: School Kids Killed, Many Injured, Houses Burnt, Vehicles Destroyed In Abule Ado, Festac Explosion (Videos)



An explosion rocked Abule Ado at the Abule-Ado area around Festac town in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of Lagos State today, Sunday 15th March 2020.

The explosion reportedly rocked neighbouring areas, sparking a massive blaze that took lives, injured many and destroyed Vehicles, nearby houses including a boarding school.




According to an an eyewitness, a tipper offloading sand caught fire, which spread to a nearby pipeline, triggering the blast.

The director-general of LASEMA Dr Femi Osanyintolu confirmed that the pipeline had earlier been vandalized by unknown persons.



The Lagos State Fire Service says there are buildings on fire in Ado Soba, Abule-Ado, and Amuwo-Odo.




15 unidentified bodies have so far been recovered, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency boss, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintiolu has confirmed.

With the rescue process in top gear, more bodies are likely to be recovered.

Meanwhile the chairman of the local government area, mister Valentine Buraimoh disclosed that that some children have been rescued from the collapsed school building.


Several injured victims currently receiving medical attention. Some due to shock, Says LASEMA boss, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintiolu.

Remote, immediate cause of explosion yet to be ascertained, still under investigation.
