Covid19 Or Robbery, Which Is A Bigger Threat To Lagosians (Video, Screenshots, Details)

In reaction to the extension of the lockdown which was announced on the 11th of April by the Federal Government to further manage the Coronavirus outbreak, some irresponsible youths have decided to seize the opportunity to cause terror in some neighborhoods situated in Lagos.

According to a post shared by Twitter user, Danny Walter on the microblogging and social networking platform, the affected areas are; Alagbado, Agbado, ijaiye, Abule Egba, Agege, Ogba, Akute, Ota, Sango.

He also revealed that the residents in some of the above neighborhoods turned to Vigilante to secure the area as a

Aproko Doctor on twitter also gave his own report of the situation saying;

"Areas around Abule-Egba were robbed today in broad day light. Shops looted, armed robbers on the prowl.

We had to close the hospital gates for fear of being harmed also.

People have reached breaking point. Its between a virus and increasing crime."

There is an ongoing argument that tries to justify the actions of the robbers, claiming the extension of the lockdown pushed them to the act as they are trying to survive.

It went further to say that alot of youths rely on their daily hustle to feed and as that has been taken away from them, they have to resort to the easiest way out.

However, in response to the above argument, some twitter users rebuked the actions of the robbers saying that there is no excuse for crime which Mimi's blog totally agree on.

According to them, if the robbers are finding it hard to feed, they should beg rather than resort to robbing their fellow Nigerians.

What do you think, is the lockdown a reasonable excuse for crime?
