Lagos unlocked: Third Mainland Bridge, Banks, Streets, Overcrowded As Lagosians Finally Embrace Freedom (Videos, Photos)

Lagos has been the epicenter of the outbreak in Nigeria with 1,107 confirmed cases and 30 deaths as of May 3rd.

Recall the first COVID-19 case was recorded in Lagos and it kept increasing which prompted the governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwo-Olu and FG, to declare a compulsory lockdown.

The lockdown which stretched for about a month gave birth to a set of notorious criminals called "The One Million Boys".

Driven by hunger as they claimed, they terrorised the communities, robbing the people of their food items and money.

On Monday 27th April, the president announced in a nationwide broadcast that he has approved a phased and gradual easing of lockdown measures in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos and Ogun States effective from Monday, May 4, at 9am.

The Lockdown lifting commenced today, 4th May, and from the reports coming in, it seems it is a wrong move.

As at 6am on Monday morning, there was heavy traffic on third mainland.

Banks, pedestrian bridges, Bus-stops were overcrowded with people.

From all indications, lifting of the lockdown will cause more harm than good.
