In a recent episode of the pepper dem reunion show, BBNaija star, Mercy Eke, opened up on what transpired between her and champagne company, Moet Hennessy and why their deal did not pull through.
According to the reality star, the deal hit the rocks because of a nosy fan.
Narrating what happened to show host, Ebuka, Mercy said that what she had with the company was an oral agreement as they had already paid her
She stated that the champagne company approached her and wanted her to sign a deal with them and also attend a party they wanted to organize to which she obliged.
She did attend the party and they were impressed with her and paid her the agreed sum, even before signing the dotted lines. This is when she put up photos announcing the news.
According to Mercy, everything was going well till some non fans ruined it.
A nosy fan who doubted the authenticity of the deal put a call across to the company where the company worker told the nosy fan that Mercy had no deal with the company.
The fan was reported to have posted the information on the internet which one went viral, making internet users troll Mercy.
Mercy revealed that she wanted the company to make a public apology to prove she didn't lie but when it wasn't forthcoming,
In her words;
"I told the company that if I was going to go ahead with the deal, they should release an official statement saying that they know me and to also apologize".
When she got nothing from them, she had to drop the deal and return their money because she didn't want anything that would taint her image or her brand.
