#Endsars: Lagos State Reportedly Loses N234m To Tollgates’ Closure

Due to the ongoing #EndSARS protest, the Lagos State Government has reportedly lost at least N234m to the closure of tollgates as the protests on the Island enters its 9th day today, 19th October.

Recall protestors had blocked the Lekki tollgates to protest thereby preventing cars from passing through which automatically puts a temporary stop to toll fees.

However, the state has continued to generate money from adverts at the toll plazas even though the total amount generated from the adverts can't be compared to the income from the tollgates.

The figure was obtained from the daily and monthly targets set for the tollgates by the government, which owns the tollgates, which are being managed by the Lekki Concession Company.

According to The Punch, a Lagos State commissioner, who wished to remain anonymous, told their correspondent that the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge was expected to generate about N10m daily, while the Admiralty Circle Plaza along the Lekki-Epe Expressway was not expected to generate less than N16.6m a day.
