“Fatherhood Changed Me Forever” - Wizkid Opens Up About His Experience On Becoming A Father At 21

Grammy award winner, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has shared what becoming a father at 21 years of age did to him.

According to the singer, fatherhood at 21 completely changed him forever.

Recall in 2011, the music star welcomed his first child, Boluwatife, with his first baby mama, Shola Ogudu in Lagos.

According to the singer in a recent interview with Rolling stone where he spoke about his successful music career and collaboration with Jamaican singer, Damian Marley, on hit track ‘Blessed’, Wizkid revealed that he was so scared and confused when he got Shola pregnant.

He noted that he wasn't ready to become a father but eventually having the baby gave him a sense of responsibility and it made him start putting his business together.

In conclusion, having Boluwatife made him a better man and his arrival into his life was a big blessing.

In his words;

"Yeah. Fatherhood changed me, man. When I had my first child, I was 21. I’ll never forget. I felt so lost, ’cause I wasn’t sure I was ready to be a father at that point.

I was scared I wasn’t going to be a good father to my kids ’cause I [was] still a baby. I was so confused."

"I remember after I had my child, it just changed everything, man. I started seeing my life different. I literally started putting my business together after I had my kid. It just made me [think], “Oh, wow. Another life is here that I have to care for. That’s my responsibility.”

So he really changed my life, man, and I called him Boluwatife: “As God wishes.” That was a big blessing to my life. Fatherhood changed me forever.”
