Lagos Government Shuts Down All Chrisland School Branches Indefinitely Over S#x Tape Of 10-year-old Pupil

Following the alleged s€xual violation involving some minors during an international sport trip and the outrage it caused on social media, Lagos State government announced on Monday the shutdown of all Chrisland Schools.

Recall we shared earlier that pupils from the elite high school, Chrisland, were in Dubai in March to participate in the World School Games between March 10-13, 2022, a four-day annual competition with schools from all over the world.0pl

The school was celebrated for carrying out an impressive display and winning about 34 medals.

However video showing moments some of Chrisland's pupils were indulging in s€x surfaced and went viral online.

After the video consisting of a 10 year old girl and some boys went viral, music producer and talent manager, Ubi Franklin, accused the school of concealing the incident from parents.

He further revealed that the girl who happened to be his friend's daughter, was r@ped and recorded by the boys before they shared it online.

Reacting to the Chrisland high school s€x scandal, Lagos state Government has now called for the indefinite closure of the school and all its branches as the school has at least seven branches in the state.

The statement read;

“The attention of the Lagos State Government has been drawn to the alleged s#xual violence case involving students of Chrisland school which occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

“It is pertinent to note that all allegations are being investigated by the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including Ministry of Education, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Ministry of Justice and the Lagos State Domestic & S#xual Violence Agency, whilst the criminal allegations have been escalated to the Commissioner of Police.

“In view of the allegations, we are committed to ensuring that adequate medical and pscyho social support is provided.

This is to reassure members of the public of the State Government’s commitment to safety and child protection, especially in ensuring that all child-centred institutions within the state, formulate and implement policies and systems that are compliant with the Executive Order (NO.EO/AA08 of 2016), Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Program.

“We also use this medium to remind the general public that any person who engages in any visual depiction of s#xually explicit conduct involving a child, commits an offence and is liable to a custodial sentence of fourteen (14) years. This includes “producing, distributing, receiving, or possessing an image of child p0rn0graphy”.

In the meantime, all Chrisland Schools within Lagos State are hereby closed, pending further investigations.

Signed

Lagos State Government."

Chrisland High school, Lagos, is not new to s#xual controversy. In 2018, a court convicted a 46-year-old teacher of the school, Adegboyega Adenekan, for r@ping a two-year-old female pupil.
