The husband of late renowned gospel artiste, Sis. Osinachi, identified as Peter Nwachukwu has been arrested by the police over his wife’s untimely death.
This is following public outrage over his involvement in the late singer's death after her colleagues’ and friends' disclosed that it was the last beating he gave her that led to her death.
According to one Barrister Chidinma, he gave her a kick to the chest which immediately landed her in the hospital where she had to be placed on life support.
Her colleague, Frank Edwards, in a live Instagram video, also revealed that Osinachi’s husband abused her on several occasions.
Amid this, a police source revealed that Peter was arrested on Sunday afternoon in Abuja.
According to the source, a young man who claimed to be a relative of the late woman came to report the matter at the station and the police went to arrest him at his residence.
Confirming the development, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said:
“He is now in our custody. The younger brother of the deceased reported the matter and we have commenced investigation.”
