Doyinsola David, better known as Doyin, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, shared her insights on why her friend, Ilebaye won the Big Brother Naija All Stars show.
Recall that at the Brother Naija All Stars finale last night, Ilebaye defeated five other finalists to be crowned winner.
During a recent interview with Sabi radio, Doyin suggested that Ilebaye won the Big Brother Naija All Stars season because of Nigerians' underdog mentality.
This perspective is that Nigerians tend to rally behind and support individuals who they perceive as being oppressed or isolated by a group.
Doyin suggested that the events in the house favored Ilebaye's underdog image.
In her words;
"Ilebaye won the Big Brother Naija All Stars show because of Nigerians' underdog mentality.
Nigerians have the mentality that if a group of people are oppressing one person, that one person is our hero that way.
I think Ilebaye's storyline played out exactly as it was intended to".
