A 70-year-old woman, Safina Namukwaya, has welcomed twins through IVF.
Safina welcomed a baby girl and boy on Wednesday, November 28, 2023, at the Women's Hospital International and Fertility Center in Kampala, Uganda.
Medical professionals at the hospital reported that the mother and the twins are in good health following the caesarean delivery.
Speaking with NTV, Safina opened up about the challenges she encountered during her barrenness.
According to her, she was criticized, mocked, and judged for being barren, but she had faith in God Almighty, who finally answered her prayers.
"Many people criticized, mocked, and judged me for being barren, but i decided to leave everything to the Almighty God, who has finally answered my prayers.", Safina said.
Meanwhile, Safina has set a record as the world's oldest woman to give birth.
Although, her situation is uncommon, it is not unprecedented for a woman to give birth at an older age.
