In reaction to the ongoing chaos in the states caused by hoodlums trying to hijack the ongoing peaceful #EndSARS protests, Lagos State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in every part of the state.
According to the governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the protests sparked by police violence had 'degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society,'.
He made this known in a statement on his official Twitter page on Tuesday, 20th October.
The governor said that “nobody except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets” as he declared the curfew in effect from 4pm local time (16:00 GMT) on Tuesday.
“We will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state,” he added.
