Alan Fisher, an Irish chef, has dethroned Nigerian-born chef, Hilda Baci to become the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon.
Alan's record came after Hilda Baci celebrated her 28th birthday last month.
On June 13, 2023, Guinness World Records confirmed that Hilda Baci's cooking marathon was the longest ever embarked upon by an individual.
Guinness World Records awarded Baci only 93 hours and 11 minutes, rather than the full 100 hours and 20 minutes she claimed.
The shorter time was due to her failure to follow the laid down rules and procedures for breaking a record.
Guinness World Records announced in a recent tweet that Alan Fisher had broken Hilda Baci's record for the longest cooking marathon.
According to Guinness World Records, Fisher cooked for a total of 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan, beating Hilda Baci's previous record of 100 hours and 20 minutes.
The tweet read, "After nearly 120 hours of cooking, Alan Fisher, a chef from Ireland, has dethroned the 'Nigerian cooking queen' Hilda Baci for the record of longest cooking marathon".
However, Hilda Baci responded to the tweet congratulating Alan over his latest feat.
"Huge congratulations to Alan, 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement", Hilda Baci tweeted.
