The dispatch rider, now identified as Williams Tadule by the Police, who was recently accused of kidnapping after he was caught with a baby allegedly inside his delivery box, has been exonerated.
Recall over the weekend, a dispatch rider was beaten up by an angry mob after he was seen with a child whom they assumed he kidnapped.
In a recent development, the mother of the child, identified as Lovina Biturs, has revealed that her child wasn't stolen.
According to her, the dispatch rider is the child's uncle and they are both fond of each other.
A video circulating the internet which was recorded by the owner of the logistics business in a bid to clear the company’s name, captures the moment the mother exonerated the dispatch rider.
She noted that he is not a kidnapper as was claimed by the mob, adding also that she gave her consent for him to go with her child.
“I’m the one that gave him the baby by myself because I trust him. He is the baby’s uncle,” the child’s mother said.
The Lagos State Police Command in a statement released on Monday, also disclosed thatcdispatch rider, Williams Tadule, got the consent of one Lovina Biturs to take her 10-month-old baby away.
According to the police, Tadule and Biturs were neighbours and the baby was fond of the rider.
The police, in a statement, added that the rider wanted to go pick up something in the neighbourhood and the baby’s uncontrollably cries won’t let his mother be.
